The Tasmanian Art Quilt Prize is an Australian wide competition and the inaugural exhibition of finalists was held in the Bond Store of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in October 2013. This year’s theme is “EBB and FLOW”
A collaborative program between the Tasmanian Quilting Guild & the Maritime Museum of Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Art Quilt Prize 2018 Exhibition will be held in the Carnegie Gallery at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania in Hobart from Tuesday 1st May to Sunday 3rd June 2018. The Maritime Museum of Tasmania is a not-for-profit museum dedicated to the history of Tasmania’s association with the sea, ships, and ship-building, and is located at Carnegie House in Sullivans Cove, Hobart. The Museum’s mission is to explore, preserve and interpret Tasmania’s rich maritime past. While the theme, “Ebb and Flow”, is a familiar saying from the time of sailing ships with time and tide waiting for no man, at least one dictionary definition is “a recurrent pattern of coming and going or decline and regrowth”, leaving it open to many different interpretations.
